When Lukas Hrbacek moved to Thailand, he started a scooter rental service that made booking scooters as easy as ordering a pizza. When getting started, he knew he would need a tool to handle the rental functionality for his website, and he chose Booqable, thanks to its ease of use and integration. Over the next five years, he hopes to have several locations across Thailand.
CityGlide
In early 2024, Lukas moved from the Czech Republic to Thailand to start a new life. After recognizing the popularity of scooters in the country, he discovered that booking them was often not as easy as it could be. The usual process involves finding a shop, calling them, going there, waiting your turn, and often dealing with language barriers. These were the problems he aimed to solve with CityGlide.
He decided to start a convenient scooter rental service, hoping to make the process as quick and easy as ordering a pizza. This would mean allowing customers to book online and pick up their scooter or deliver it anywhere within Chiang Mai within an hour. Of course, there is a lot of competition in this space, but they believe the convenience and ease of their rental process will help them stand out.
Currently, CityGlide’s collection consists of four brand-new Honda scooters with varying engine capacities that customers can select based on their preferences. In time, Lukas hopes this selection will expand, and the business will be able to extend to cities across Thailand. He is experienced in marketing, so he has many ideas about how he can achieve this goal with CityGlide.
Launching with online bookings
When Lukas first came up with the idea of CityGlide, he knew he would be able to create a front end for the website, but he would need to find a tool to handle the rental functionality. He tried many solutions to integrate bookings into his Webflow website but encountered three common issues with them. They were complex and difficult navigation, lacked essential feature, or were unaffordable for a starter.
However, when he found Booqable, none of these concerns were a concern, and he was happy to proceed with it.
Lukas found Booqable’s integration into any website brilliant, as the widget eliminated many of the hassles he encountered with other solutions. It provides a clear and user-friendly interface that makes it easy for customers to book a scooter on his website. He could customize where calls to action appear and adjust the appearance to match the styling of the rest of his site.
In addition, when setting up Booqable, he liked that every feature in the interface had its own explanatory video that made it easy to understand. This significantly helped when it came to setting up his inventory, payments, and documents to meet his requirements. As well as understanding how the different parts of the app interact with each other.
A new venture
Lukas turned his idea into a reality when he started his own scooter rental business in Chiang Mai. He used his marketing experience to create a brand and website for the company. His friends were surprised at how quickly he turned his idea into a functional rental website with Booqable’s rental integration. He hopes to help tourists from all over the world visiting Thailand to be able to book scooters more easily.
